Department Description Reporting to the Product Family Leader, the Product Marketing lead is responsible for managing the product marketing function and defining the overall portfolio story for a specific category of products.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
In this role, he/she will be the primary marketing interface between the development/engineering teams, product management teams, Consumer Design & Consumer Insights teams, as well as the Regional and Global marketing and Sales teams.
At a high level, the incumbent will be responsible for identifying and co-developing compelling product concepts and solutions, interpreting market research and industry trends, formulating and contributing to strategic and tactical plans, and ensuring on-time execution of product marketing deliverables for a timely product launch.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
. Drive ideation of new products and support charter development
. Co-develop and refine product & category value propositions, including definition of the target consumer and key areas of differentiation
. Collaborate with Product Development to ensure that key experiences delivered continue to meet value proposition and delight consumers
. Drive device inclusion and participation in the development of product specific research, including internal and external user trials
. Maintain competitive overview/analysis for tier and/or product(s), prepare customer presentations
. Co-develop, support and drive go-to-market activities - e.g. marketing communications and promotional plans (Positioning strategies, advertising, events, PR, web/e-marketing, internal communications), product packaging, user manuals, device training, sales/marketing collateral, call center product training, trade shows.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
. Previous consumer marketing experience at a consumer goods company or a technology-driven consumer goods company
. Excellent communication and presentation skills
. Ability to synthesize consumer research and draw conclusions
. Ability to work cross-functionally, experience in working the matrices and complexities of a large organization.
