This position is responsible for conducting programs of Clinical Pastoral Education under the standards of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE). The incumbent develops curriculum, supervises students' clinical work, provides educational opportunities, and evaluates students. In consultation with the Coordinator of Pastoral Education, takes responsibility for the delivery of pastoral care services as assigned. Cooperates with other Pastoral Educators in the planning and administration of the overall educational program at Clarian Health. The Pastoral Educator reports to the Coordinator of Pastoral Education.QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
* Requires certification from ACPE as a supervisor.
* Requires a Master of Divinity from an accredited theological school, or documented equivalency from ACPE.
* Requires a minimum of 3 years work experience in a related field.
* Membership/Certification in one cognate group within 2 years of employment.
* Ordination or commissioning for ministry by a recognized religious group.
* Endorsement for pastoral education by appropriate denominational affiliation.
* Demonstrates expert knowledge of CPE theory and its integration into functioning as a pastoral educator.
* Requires knowledge of diverse religious traditions and the ability to minister to and educate persons with diverse religious and cultural backgrounds.
* Requires quality education; patient care; communication; and crisis intervention skills.
* Knowledge of ACPE Standards.
* ACPE Supervisor or Associate Supervisor required at point of hire.
* Certification as ACPE Supervisor required within 3 years of employment.
