The Field Product Specialist demonstrates a high level of proficiency in performing all activities associated with installing, servicing and maintaining a wide range of Pitney Bowes Integrated Solutions products. This position requires excellent computing skills, networking knowledge, systems integration and software troubleshooting as well as excellent electromechanical troubleshooting and repair skills. All aspects of revenue generating functions such as billable consulting services, EMA sales, billable labor and parts/supplies are part of the Field Product Specialist responsibilities.
Dimensions of Position:
* All products having configurations that can be handled via the application's user interface are owned by the field product specialist. The Field Product Specialist will install all products they have been trained on. The Field Product Specialist will learn from Systems Integrator during joint visits.
* Maintains high level of equipment up time through knowledge of products and customer requirements. Combines competent functional knowledge of equipment with customer application(s) and use. Plans and coordinates installations through Project Leader or Enterprise Project Manager.
* Successfully completes PB-based training programs and keeps current with applicable technologies through formal and informal education.
* Receives technical guidance from and supports Systems Integrators. Works directly with senior staff at customer site or in other settings as required.
* Contributes to revenue growth through solicitation and sales of billable consulting services, parts, labor, EMA's and other programs including supplies, etc. Maintains current knowledge of revenue enhancement opportunities across Sales/Service/Direct Marketing spectrum. Provides added value to customer through recommendation of billable consulting services and upgrade of EMA's or other means: parts, supplies, etc.
* Protects GMS revenues by ensuring integrity of metered mail. Understands and maintains statutory requirements of metered mail system with USPS and educates customer.
* Adheres to all statutory and company mandated safety regulations and informs customers and/or internal staff of any and all concerns.

Qualifications / Requirements:
* AS degree with specialization in electromechanical, electronic and computer hardware/software or equivalent background
* Microsoft Office Professional (Excellent working knowledge of Mail Merge)
* Proven performance (a minimum of 1 year) in technical service and customer relations for complex business equipment and systems such as mailing, inserter, copier or facsimile, LAN, telecommunications and computers
* Ability to determine peripheral communication device parameters
* Working knowledge of LAN operations
* Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
* Ability to actively solicit and deliver new billable consulting services
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Excellent listening, interpersonal and observation skills
* Ability to adapt to changing environment in the areas of products and technology, customer personalities and customer knowledge levels
* A valid driver's license
* Ability to transport/lift up to 35 lbs.
* Overtime work or stand-by services will be required as determined by customer requirements.
