Starting minimum biweekly salary is $7,038.47 (Non-Board Eligible) / $7,115.39 (Board Eligible) / $7,230.77 (Board Certified).

A required minimum qualification is Licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, and two years of post-licensure professional experience in the practice of medicine; or Licensure as an osteopathic physician pursuant to Chapter 459, Florida Statutes, and two years of post-licensure professional experience in the practice of osteopathic medicine; or A current public psychiatry certificate issued by the Florida Board of Medical Examiners pursuant to Section 458.3165, Florida Statutes. Certification by a recognized board in a medical specialty area can substitute for the required experience.

DESCRIPTION
This is work providing diagnoses, treatments, and helping to prevent diseases and injuries that commonly occur in the general population.
Some positions in this occupation may be responsible for coordinating work and supervising employees.
EXAMPLES OF WORK
Supervises employees by assigning work, reviewing progress and assessing performance.
Examines or conducts tests on patient to provide information on medical condition.
Analyzes records, reports, test results, or examination information to diagnose medical condition of patient.
Prescribes or administers treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
Explains procedures and discusses test results on prescribed treatments with patients.
Operates on patients to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body parts and systems and delivers babies.
Collects, records, and maintains patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
Refers patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.
Advises patients and population base concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
Plans, implements, or administers health programs or standards for information, prevention, or treatment of injury or illness.
Directs and coordinates activities of medical staff.
Prepares reports for government or management of birth, death, and disease statistics, workforce evaluations, or medical status of individuals.
Conducts research to study and develop procedures to prevent or control disease.
Performs and monitors quality assurance activities.
Develops and conducts clinical staff development activities and in-service training activities.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
This occupation requires licensure as a physician pursuant to Chapter 458, Florida Statutes; or licensure as an osteopathic physician pursuant to Chapter 459, Florida Statutes; or a current Public Health Certificate issued by the Florida Board of Medical Examiners pursuant to Section 458.316, Florida Statutes.
