GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Performs and coordinates the transport of equipment and supplies to and from Hospitals and other licensed off-site facilities ("Acute Facility") as required and in accordance with DaVita and Acute Facility policies, procedures, and the DaVita Acute Services agreement with the Acute Facility. Insures adequate and appropriate volume of supplies are on-site at the Acute Facilities, maintains ordering and inventory control within the Acute program Office and Acute Facilities.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is not a supervisor position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the maintenance of the inventory system.
Establishes and maintains inventory records, logs, files, purchase orders and ensures appropriate levels of supplies are maintained at the Acute program storage site.
Rotates inventory on a first in first out basis and ensures that supplies do not expire. Maintains supply inventory at all assigned locations and replenishes as necessary.
Communicates and reviews supply and equipment inventory reports with the AFA and ROD.
Transports equipment and supplies from location to location. Notifies the appropriate Acute Facility personnel whenever new equipment is being brought into the Acute Facility.
Performs water and endotoxin sampling on equipment as instructed and notifies AFA of values that are reported as out of range.
Disinfects acute equipment according to policy and procedure.
Retrieves billing related paperwork from hospitals and delivers it to the Acute program Office.
Operates a motor vehicle according to all applicable traffic laws.
Immediately informs AFA of any motor vehicle accidents or citations that occurs while working or on personal time.
May participate in an on-call schedule.
PLANNING, COORDINATING, AND ORGANIZING:
Plans, coordinates and organizes supply inventory at assigned Acute Facilities to insure supplies and equipment necessary for services are always available for clinical teammates.
Organizes and maintains the Acute Facility storage rooms in a clean and safe manner.
Transports cultures and endotoxin water analysis specimens to the appropriate DaVita clinic; creates lab requisitions; and forwards specimens to the Laboratory.
Ensures the company vehicle is regularly maintained including but not limited to washing, oil changes, tires and repairs.
Documents vehicle maintenance using the appropriate forms and requests sign off approval from management.
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
Daily performance demonstrates that the teammate is committed to service excellence and safety in all aspects of performance.
Daily performance demonstrates that the teammate is committed to regulatory compliance for the Acute Facility, and operating efficiency for the Acute Program.
Attends Acute Facility orientation and mandatory in-services, as required.
Observes Acute Facility policies and procedures for infection control and safety.
Participates in Acute Program Homeroom meetings, Quality Assurance meetings, and in-services as required.
Complies with state and federal regulations of the injury prevention and safety-training program
Other Duties:
1. Other duties as assigned.
2. Able to work overtime with little or no notice.
3. Able to work on-call schedule.
4. Able to work different and/or rotating shifts when required.
5. Understand and follow DaVita patient and employment Policies and Procedures
High School Diploma or equivalent
Possesses and maintains a valid Drivers License from the applicable state where the vehicle is operated.
Able to safely operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all applicable traffic laws.
Provide the company with a current certified motor vehicle driving record
One year work experience, related experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, writes, analyze, interpret and communicate verbally in English
Ability to communicate effectively with members of the health care team
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement

REASONING ABILITY:
Must be able to apply commonsense knowledge to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
