Job Description:
This Product Manager Mgr position will be responsible for managing the terminal product management team within Harris’ Public Safety and Professional Communications group. This team will create and manage a successful roadmap consisting of mobile and portable handsets for the Land Mobile Radio/Private Mobile Radio industry. The successful candidate will rationalize diverse marketing needs and work in conjunction with the product development organization to bring desired products to market.
Job responsibilities:
Manage overall Product Roadmap for the terminal portfolio by defining differentiating features and services offered to the market
Manage Pricing and Contribution Margin objectives for the terminal portfolio
Create Product Requirement Specifications as input to R&D
Manage roll out of products to Sales, Marketing, and Operations organizations and serve as internal subject matter expert
Lead collateral development in conjunction with Product Marketing
Drive vendor/ODM/OEM partnerships to meet Time To Market and Cost objectives
Maintain Competitive Analysis for product portfolios.
Qualifications:
* 10-15 years of Marketing and Product Management experience in the Land Mobile Radio/Private Mobile Radio business with specific expertise in terminal products
* Experience in working with OEM/ODM handset vendors in Asia, with focus on Supply Chain and cost optimization
* Experience with mobile wireless network technologies, including conventional, P25, DMR, and Tetra
* Experience with product lifecycle management, use case management, interaction with product marketing and technology departments
* Technical (BSEE or BSCS) or Business undergraduate degree.
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Ability to gather market requirements and synthesize into functional requirements and business cases
* Masters degree in business administration or marketing
