Job Description:
GENCO has a future opening for Freight Broker with our Supply Chain Management Division, to be located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Supply Chain Management Division of GENCO, is a non-asset based, full service transportation solutions provider, focused exclusively on logistics services, reducing costs and improving service for our customers. GENCO works to create supply chain solutions through our suite of logistics, including Transportation Management (3PL); Carrier Management; Transportation Management System; Network Analysis; Supply Chain Assessments; and Parcel Solutions. Our Team is focused on providing engineered solutions that provide true value to our clients long term relationships.
The Freight Broker is responsible for:
* Strengthening and growing shipper and carrier relationships to secure and move freight on a daily basis
* Cold calling prospective customers to build a portfolio of business
* Cold calling potential carriers to build a network of capacity options
* Monitoring shipments and resolving issues as they arise
* Creatively identifying opportunities to provide additional value to our customers and our carriers
* Participating actively in growth of their division and exceeding team goals
* Maintaining solid understanding of current market conditions
* Gathering information to make solid independent decisions
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
* Two (2) plus years of sales experience with a transaction oriented 3PL, brokerage, or other related business OR Bachelor or Associate Degree a strong plus
* Ability to successfully close business transactions
* Proficient negotiation and problem solving skills are a must
* Strong ability to communicate verbally and electronically with a very high level of attention to detail
* Effective phone skills a must
* Comfortable with MS Office Software
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
* The ability to work independently and as a part of the team, with a high degree of enthusiasm, professionalism and motivation
