Global Equities Derivatives Business Analyst, US (VP)

Overall Objectives:
Capture requirements from all business stakeholders in Equity Derivatives and develop detailed functional specifications for our strategic projects
Drive the adoption of strategic systems across sales and trading desks in New York.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the Volatility Management space, working closely with local development teams on the build-out of Parameter and Volatility Management tools


Responsibilities Include:

Conduct upfront analysis for GED IT's suite of strategic systems, including:
-Real-time and on-demand risk and P&L systems for Equity Derivatives Flow business
-Trade/Product Lifecycle system for trade capture, pricing, booking and structuring
-Portfolio of Risk and Derivatives Services:
-Reports Server
-Valuation Service
-Position Keeping Service
-Global Product Service
-Enterprise Parameter Service
-Reference Data

Help set development priorities by closely evaluating business needs from a return-on-investment perspective
Provide ongoing analysis support for the development teams, including subject-matter expertise consulting, assistance writing test cases, and testing
Liaise effectively with business users, technology management and developers, and middle office and compliance where necessary
Communicate and evangelize GED IT's overall strategy effectively to business stakeholders
Ensure coordination of requirements across global businesses. While the candidate will be primarily responsible for gathering requirements from London, all feature requests must be vetted with the global business
The ideal candidate will be one with an appreciation of the right questions to ask, and how to present the answers to those questions.


Skills Required:
Undergraduate degree, preferably on in math, computer science or engineering, is required. Graduate degree strongly preferred.
Demonstrated success as a business analyst in a front-office role
Experience in risk and P&L both real-time and on-demand systems
Must have trading environment experience
Experience of working with diverse and geographically distributed groups
Technical/programming background (ideal)
Experience in agile software development strongly desired
Proven expertise in Business Analysis
Excellent writing and communication skills. Need the ability to produce both technical documentation and layman-readable materials
Solid knowledge of options risk systems
Deep understanding of volatility and option pricing
Strong knowledge of derivatives products, both listed and OTC
Experience of working with diverse and geographically distributed groups required
Project management skills and experience with the entire software development lifecycle
Ability to prioritize work, set expectations and deliver on time
Strong communication skills
Self motivated
Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
